Steam summer sale is on again, and figured I'd do a list of indie games I've played that are on decent sales and I think more people should play.  A bunch of these are personal favourites of mine, and all have appeared on the channel over the years.

Rabi-Ribi - $7.04 CAD (70% off)
Easily one of my favourite games of all time. An indie bullet hell metroidvania with super cute art and you play as a bunnygirl.  Relatively light on story, but lots of bosses to fight and areas to explore.  It has a lot of neat "hidden tech" that allows you to vastly break the intended flow of the game, but the devs have thought of nearly everything so it's extremely hard to actually softlock the game, and there's even achievements for doing stuff like that.  I tried learning the speedrun but I think the glitched run route burned me out.  I should revisit this someday, but with the glitchless route.

TEVI - $23.39 CAD (40% off)
The spiritual sequel to Rabi-Ribi by the same main dev.  Still a bullet hell metroidvania, but with a heavier emphasis on melee combat with some weird DMC level comboing stuff.  Really damn fun, good mechanics, and a badge system for customizing.  People are more mixed on this one because it has a much higher emphasis on story than Rabi-Ribi, and so can railroad you a bit in a normal playthrough.  Story and characters are great though.  DLC story stuff coming some day.

Pseudoregalia - $5.45 CAD (30% off)
Another game that's in my "favourite of all time" list.  Indie 3d metroidvania with a heavy emphasis on movement and a PS1 aesthetic.  The best feeling movement in a video game I've ever played, and stuff flows into itself so well it's just great to move.  And you'll pull off shit and wonder "was that the intended method?" and I'm not sure if there are intended methods.  Oh, and has thick goat ass if that helps.

Dread Delusion - $14.81 CAD (35% off)
Indie open-world-ish RPG adventure.  Really crazy setting (hard to describe, but floating islands with a lot of weird shit going on), and decisions that actually change how the nations act.  Really great game that's stuck in my head since I played it on stream.  Just a wonderful vibe and world to explore.

Rabbit and Steel - $11.69 CAD (40% off)
Indie uh.... MMO raid battle roguelite?  I guess?  It's super cute, you play as bunnygirls, but its basically Final Fantasy XIV raid battles distilled into 1-4 player boss rushes where each run you can choose options to change how your class plays a bit.  Very fun game, and it can be very hard but Casual difficulty is pretty easy.  And, in a nice touch, you can unlock everything just by playing a bunch, even on Casual mode.

The Messenger - $5.19 CAD (80% off)
It's an 8 bit linear action platformer.  No wait, its a 16bit linear action platformer.  No wait, it's both and its now a non-linear metroidvania.  Really good game, has really cool concepts with time travel and extremely tight controls.

Hakoniwa Explorer Plus - $4.59 CAD (60% off)
Fucking weird isometric action RPG thing.  It's jank as shit, but also the game is designed and written as basically a parody of itself.  A comedy game, filled with lewd jokes, jiggly art sprites, and general weirdness.  Fun, but can feel weird to learn to play.  I also have the world record for the any% True End speedrun category of this game!

Recettear - $2.19 CAD (90% off)
Cult classic shop keeping and dungeon crawling RPG thing.  Very silly, but solid mechanics and a very quirky cast of characters.  Getting a new HD version sometime in 2025 apparently!  Play it and watch as little girls with no money absolutely ruin your sales combo because they refuse to pay more than like 95% of an items price.  Then send an idiot adventurer to go die for you in a dungeon to replenish your wares.  Has some harsh money time limit things, but if you fail you restart from the previous loan payment date with all your current upgrades and items intact, making it easier to try again.
