I like pet classes in games. MMOs, ARPGs, pretty much anything. Hell, even in normal RPG games, if I have the option to use pets/minions or get enemy monsters on my team I'll take it over nearly anything else. So I had the idea... why not figure out what all the pet classes are in MMOs? Let's make a list!
That may have been a dumb idea, but we do dumb around here.
So I've been working on a spreadsheet, which can be downloaded or viewed in the following formats:

As of the time of creating the thread, it has 89 classes across 26 games. Some of these games I've only heard of in passing, and not even half these classes I know anything at all about. EVENTUALLY down the line we will try to play all of them, or at least some per game to get a good feel for how they act. Then some day we'll make some sort of massive oversized tier list or something for them all. Because why the hell not?
The first sheet has a bit of info/intro/whatever, and the second sheet has the list of games & classes in it. Feel free to give additional ideas, there's no way any one person will be able to find all of this information on their own so it's going to have to be a group effort.
Current Stats:
- Version: 0.6
- Contains 165 pet classes across 55 games
- And 12 games with generic pet systems
- And 21 games with no pets
- 199 games to be checked
Updated the spreadsheet, and the original post. Spreadsheet is now available in ODS and XLSX formats for more compatibility, and I'll look into an online viewable-in-browser option as well. The filenames are kinda versioned (currently 0.2) but it's a pretty arbitrary number honestly.
Changelog:

Version 0.3 of the spreadsheet is now in the OP. Learned so many things about MMOs, and also about how terrible it is to try and find information on large amounts of MMOs. Wow this data isn't easy to get.
Changelog:
- Created a new sheet: "No Pets", which is a list of MMOs that were checked but there are no pet classes/skill lines. So we don't repeat check stuff.
- Added info for 7 MMOs
- Still need to check 8 MMOs in the list
- Still need to add infinitely more MMOs to the list
Version 0.4 uploaded and the OP updated again. Here's the changelog:
- Updated info/intro sheet
- Added class information for 10 games
- Added colour coding to the main list games
- Added 4 games to the 'no pets' list
- Added 58 games to be checked, which is also it's own sheet now
Version 0.5 uploaded, which you can access in the OP. Bit of a break from the last update because all these terrible wikis and crappy MMO websites make my brain hurt. Also Path of Exile's new league came out, so that was a priority. The changelog for 0.5:
- Added class information for 8 games
- Added 4 games to the 'no pets' list
- Imported Wikipedias list of MMORPGs into the "to be checked" list, and one or two I had thought of, thus the large jump in number
Eventually I'll be adding a sheet that has just the list of games and details relating to them (service status, class/classless, monetization type, etc.). That info is hard to find in one spot so I may as well do it since I'm doing all this anyway.
It's been a bit! But back to work on the document. Version 0.6 uploaded, and not many new pet classes added but still many changes. Several sheets have been redone to allow for sorting and more information, and a few new sheets added. This will also be easier on my sanity to add stuff to it in the future as well.
Changelog:
- Added the 'Game Data' list (actual information will be added in 0.7)
- Changed the old 'Main List' to a new 'Class Data' sheet to allow for proper sorting and more data per class
- Created a 'Generic Pets Systems' list for games with non-class-specific pet systems to clean up the class data list
- Redid the Info sheet because of these changes
- Added 11 games to 'Class Data' list
- Moved some games from the 'Class Data' list to 'Generic Pet Systems' list since it is now separate
- Added 4 games to 'no pets' list
- Moved one game from the 'no pets' list to 'Class Data' list (Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis, as we now have an "aesthetic" type of pet class being tracked)
